| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To analyze the research trends and hotspots of Ejiao and its main components in the field of insomnia using scientometric methods, and to evaluate its potential in the treatment of insomnia due to qi-blood deficiency. [Methods] Relevant literature on sedation, hypnotic effects, and Ejiao was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database from January 2000 up to December 2025. Scientometric analyses were performed using CiteSpace,VOSviewer, and the R software, and the underlying mechanisms were further explored alongside the quantitative findings. [Results] A total of 1 207 publications were included. Research in this field mainly focused on multiple mechanisms, including neurotransmitter regulation, synergistic antioxidant effects, acetylcholinesterase inhibition,anti-inflammatory activity, and amino acid supplementation. [Conclusion] In conjunction with the traditional Chinese medicine theory of “nourishing blood to tranquilize the spirit”,this study further suggests that Ejiao holds application potential for treating insomnia due to qi-blood deficiency. This finding provides a theoretical basis and research direction for expanding its clinical indications. |
