Abstract
[Objective] To observing the expression of ATPase6 and ATPase8 and explore the probable mechanism of fistular onion stalk extract in treating nonalcoholic fatty liver disease model in rats.[Methods] The 50 male SD rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, low-dose fistular onion stalk group, medium dose fistular onion stalk group, high-dose fistular onion stalk group, and 10 in each group. The rats were fed with a high-fat diet to replicate the NAFLD model. After 10 weeks of modeling, the extract of the onion was given for 4 weeks. Serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and triglyceride (TC) and cholesterol (TG) were measured. The changes of liver tissue structure wereexpression of ATPase6 and ATPase8 mRNA in liver tissues of rats.[Results] Compared with the normal group, the model group showed obvious hepatic steatosis. The level of serum ALT, AST, TC and TG were higher than normal group(P<0.05). The expression of ATPase6 and ATPase8 mRNA was significantly decreased(P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the lipid degeneration in the liver was alleviated, the level of serum ALT, AST, TC and TG were all decreased, the expression of ATPase6 and ATPase8 mRNA were significantly increased in low-dose fistular onion stalk group, medium dose fistular onion stalk group and high-dose fistular onion stalk group(P<0.05).[Conclusion] Fistular onion stalk extract can improve hepatic steatosis, which may be associated with improved expression of ATPase6 and ATPase8, and increased mitochondrial ATP synthesis.
