| Abstract

| For traditional Chinese medicine （TCM），innovative methods and techniques of clinical efficacy evaluation play a vital role in the development of TCM. However，the current clinical efficacy evaluation of TCM is difficult to reflect the characteristics and advantages of TCM，which hinders the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine to some extent. By reviewing outcome classification，new concepts related to clinical evaluation of TCM were summarized. Meanwhile，problems with respect to outcomes for clinical evaluation of TCM were put forward，pay attention to the dynamic changes of syndromes，individual differences，the complexity of clinical diseases and intervention mechanisms，and rationality of outcome selection. It is prospective to provide reference for researchers on clinical evaluation of TCM. |
