Abstract
This article discusses the application of the “turbid toxins” doctrine founded by LI Diangui,a Master of traditional Chinese medicine,in the treatment of lumbosacral nerve dysfunction type constipation. Lumbosacral nerve dysfunction type constipation,as a kind of functional constipation, mainly manifests as difficulty or discomfort in defecation, decreased frequency of defecation, and is accompanied by lumbosacral pain, numbness and other symptoms. Its pathogenesis is closely related to lumbosacral nerve injury, neurotransmitter disorders and “turbid toxins” blocking collaterals. The article elaborates on the connotation and characteristics of the theory of “turbid toxins” entering the “collaterals”,i.e.,“turbid toxins” are blocked through the meridians and channels, leading to dysfunction of the internal organs, which in turn leads to constipation and other symptoms. The main therapeutic principles are to resolve turbidity, remove toxins, unblock the collaterals, and moisten the intestines. Through the combined application of acupuncture and moxibustion at specific points, such as Changqiang,Taixi, and Dachangshu,as well as the self-proposed formula of Qingzhuo Tongluo Decoction,it can dredge the meridians and collaterals, harmonize qi and blood, and recover the functions of the bowels and organs, thus effectively relieving the symptoms of constipation. Clinical practice has shown that this treatment method has demonstrated significant efficacy in addressing both the branch and root aspects of the condition.
