| Abstract
|
| This paper focuses on the inheritance and innovative application of Professor LU Zhizheng,a Chinese medicine master,in the theoretical and diagnostic principles of Pinellia ternata(Banxia)from the classical prescriptions of ZHANG Zhongjing. It notes that after processing,Pinellia ternata is often combined with ginger to descend rebellious qi,stop vomiting, and resolve fluid retention, but its synergistic effects with fresh ginger, ginger juice, and dried ginger each have distinct emphases. Professor LU Zhizheng emphasized that while Pinellia ternata excels in dispersing stagnation, resolving nodules, and treating conditions of fluid retention and heat accumulation in the three burners, its pungent and drying nature necessitates cautious use in cases of yin deficiency with thirst. The paper elaborates on three distinctive aspects of Professor Lu’s application of Pinellia ternata:first, prioritizing processing to mitigate its drying nature, advocating the method of CHEN Shiduo;second, flexibly combining it to harness its multifaceted effects such as descending rebellious qi,stopping vomiting, resolving nodules, and promoting smooth excretion of urine and stool;and third, demonstrating its ingenious application in treating complex conditions like neurotic gastritis through specific medical cases. |
