Abstract
[Objective] To analyze the bioelectrical characteristics of university students with yang-deficiency constitution using bioelectrical impedance measurement technology, and to provide objective evidence for its physiological functional features. [Methods] A total of 41 subjects with balanced constitution and 38 subjects with yang-deficiency constitution underwent bioelectrical impedance testing. Then the functional states of various systems, tissues, and organs were compared between the two groups. [Results] Significant differences in the composition ratio of functional status grading were observed between the two groups in multiple systems, including the respiratory, digestive, endocrine, cardiovascular, and nervous systems(P<0.05). Specifically, functional states were generally lower in regions such as the trachea, stomach, adrenal medulla, thyroid, and carotid arteries in the yang- deficiency group. No significant differences were found in the immune or urogenital systems. Additionally, the secretion level of adrenal medullary hormones and acetylcholine in the yang-deficiency group were significantly lower than those in the balanced constitution group(P<0.05). Correlation analysis revealed a negative correlation between the yang-deficiency constitution transformation score and the functional status of multiple systems(r<0,P<0.05). [Conclusion] University students with yang- deficiency constitution exhibit generally lower physiological functional states across multiple systems and organs. Bioelectrical impedance measurement can serve as an objective tool for functional assessment of yang-deficiency constitution.
