Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of bone setting manipulation with "Santong Silian" acupuncture and moxibustion therapy on cervical spondylosis radiculopathy (CSR), and the impacts on the degree of pain and cervical function. Methods Totally 120 CSR patients in our hospital were stochastically assigned into control group and joint group. The control group adopted "Santong Silian" acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, and the joint group additionally adopted bone setting manipulation. Two groups were compared in terms of total effective rate, disease severity, cervical function, cervical mobility, serum inflammatory cytokine indicators, and bad reactions. Results The joint group had a clearly higher total effective rate compared to control group (P < 0.05), and conspicuously lower visual analogue scale (VAS) score, neck disability index (NDI), and Chinese medicine syndrome score compared to control group (P < 0.05). The joint group had conspicuously higher cervical left and right rotation mobility, anterior and posterior flexion mobility compared to control group (P < 0.05), and clearly lower tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and leukotriene C4 (LTC4) compared to control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The joint intervention of bone setting manipulation with "Santong Silian" acupuncture and moxibustion therapy for CSR patients can effectively alleviate body pain and correct the physiological function of cervical vertebra. It has a relatively ideal effect and high clinical value.
