Abstract
Based on years of clinical practice and integrating the“waterway theory”from the Huangdi Neijing,Professor WANG Xixing proposes that all stages of bladder cancer are related to dysfunction of the waterway, imbalance of the lung, spleen and kidney, and failure of the triple energizer’s regulating and draining functions. Innovatively,he recommends Danggui Beimu Kushen Pill as the main prescription to regulate the waterway, aligning with Western medicine’s three phases:Perioperative, perfusion, and recurrence/advanced stages, for a dynamic treatment approach. Before surgery, the waterway is regulated, heat cleared, and dampness removed; after surgery, detoxification is facilitated and the liver and kidney are nourished;during the perfusion phase, treatment focuses on promoting drainage and detoxification;for recurrence/ advanced stages, both clearing and tonifying methods are applied. This paper systematically describes his experience in treating bladder cancer, supported by a representative case to provide new insights for traditional Chinese medicine treatment of bladder cancer.
