| Abstract
|
| Hyperlipidemia is a common metabolic disorder characterized by dysregulated lipid metabolism and serves as a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Lipophagy,a selective form of autophagy, plays a key role in regulating lipid homeostasis by degrading intracellular lipid droplets. Recent studies have shown that single compounds and compound formulations of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can ameliorate hyperlipidemia through coordinated regulation of lipophagy via multiple targets and pathways. This article systematically reviews the molecular mechanisms of lipophagy and its role in hyperlipidemia, with a focus on the involvement of core signaling pathways such as AMPK/mTOR,TFEB,and PI3K/Akt in the regulation of lipophagy. It also summarizes recent progress in research on TCM single compounds, including Astragaloside Ⅳ,Geniposide,Emodin,Hyperin, and Ginsenoside,as well as TCM compound formulations such as Zexie Decoction,Huayu Qutan Formula,Kundan Formula, and Wuling Powder in improving hyperlipidemia by modulating lipophagy. The aim is to provide new theoretical foundations and research directions for the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia and related metabolic diseases using TCM. |
